From April 2-5, Sun Valley Resort will host the 2023 U.S. Alpine Championships with both men and women competing in slalom, giant slalom and super-G events.

The Ross Fork Fire – Before, During & After Presented by MESH Gallery and U.S. Forest Service

Fine Art Photographer Jeffrey H. Lubeck, MESH Gallery, and the United States Forest Service will premiere the exhibit The Ross Fork Fire – Before, During & After on Friday, December 16th, 2022 from 5-7:30PM. The event is free to the public. Beverages and other goodies will be served free as well. MESH Gallery is located on Town Square in Ketchum, Idaho at 420 4th Street East. 83340. The exhibit will include images, maps, and other artifacts from the fire that consumed almost 40,000 acres in or near to the Sawtooth National Recreation Area (SNRA). The SNRA was the nation’s first National Recreation Area established in 1972 and at almost 700,000 acres is its largest. The SNRA is considered Idaho’s Crown Jewel from a nature setting perspective and celebrated its 50-year birthday this past summer. At 6:30PM Lubeck and Fire Personnel and Subject Matter Experts from the Forest Service in a variety of disciplines will lead a discussion about the fire – before, during, & after – and its implications. Tree Lighting Ceremony @ Sun Valley Resort

The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place in the Village in front of the duck pond Saturday, December 17th with music beginning at 5:30 p.m. Activities include an appearance by Santa, live holiday music by Faculty Lounge, ice carvings, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies, and a cash bar. Festivities begin at 5:30pm with the tree lighting at 6 p.m. sharp!

Alan Pasqua is an American rock and jazz pianist, a Steinway Piano Artist, Grammy Nominee, and Professor of Jazz Studies at USC Thornton School of Music. He has been a member of the bands of Bob Dylan and Santana, played and recorded with jazz artists including Tony Williams, Jack DeJohnette, Paul Motian, Dave Holland, Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Joe Henderson, Stanley Clarke, Gary Burton, and worked with composers John Williams, Quincy Jones, Dave Grusin, Jerry Goldsmith, and Henry Mancini.
