Lauren Mantecón showcased her abstract paintings Friday night. Each painting elicited complex layered surfaces exploring a multitude of materials and paint in combination with ephemeral subject matter.
In her newest exhibition, “Stewards of Light,” Mantecón explores dreamlike scenes and portals between worlds with a visual syntax of orbs, ovals and dense, translucent layers of paint.
